Messages from the APAN Community:
It was with deep sadness that I learned of the passing of a
most trusted friend, mentor and advisor Jacqueline Brown.
I had the honour to work with Jacqueline across many decades,
exploring new places, meeting amazing people and discussing ideas new and old. Over the years as friends, I never ceased to be amazed at her knowledge, experiences and the journey of her unique life.
Jacqueline had one of the sharpest minds I’ve ever encountered. Her wisdom and council, guidance and advice both professionally and personally will always be fondly remembered by all of those who’s lives she touched.
My deepest condolences and thoughts go to Jacqueline’s family
Kitty and Chris. We’ve lost an amazing friend, you’ve lost an
amazing mum who touched so many.

I thought of Jacqueline recently and wondering how she was. This makes me even sadder.
She was really an amazing and wonderful lady. She had been contributing to APAN and CANS(annual event between Chinese-American) for many years as our beloved friend, which brought us a lot of benefit. I loved her very much and will miss her very much.
In the meantime, I am also glad to hear that she got good care by her beloved landlord and her friends around her when she needed, and this would have made her time easier and happier in her last days. She will remain in our heart.
All my best wishes,
Jie/Jennifer An, CERNET

I’m shocked and so saddened at this news. I’ve exchanged emails with her until very recently, not even two months back. Since I met her first time in Montreal at a CA*net conference in 2003, we’ve been in touch for a number of events including DancingQ and, as you all know, she was one of the most influential figure in the whole activities of APAN. She made an example how prudent a person should be in group activities. So sad to hear this, but she will remain in our heart.
May she rest in peace.
